DTF stands for direct to film. Your artwork is printed onto transfer film, then applied to a suitable garment using heat and pressure.
It’s a handy option for small runs, detailed illustrations and designs with lots of colours.

Detailed black-and-white artwork or a design full of colour: we can reproduce both. Transfer size and quantity affect the price, rather than the number of colours.
DTF can suit cotton, polyester and blends, on light or dark garments. Send us the garment details first so we can check suitability.
The transfer sits on the fabric, with a smooth surface and sometimes a slight sheen. PrintDare’s transfers are relatively soft to the touch, but they won’t feel like a water-based or discharge screen print.
A large, solid block of print will feel more noticeable than a smaller design with gaps. If feel matters, ask about a sample.

Send the artwork over. We’ll take a look before you commit.
Logos, lettering and detailed images with defined edges are good candidates. Artwork that fades gradually into bare fabric needs a closer look.
DTG prints directly onto the garment; DTF transfers the design from film. Fabric, artwork and the feel you want all matter. There isn’t one best method for every job.
Wear and washing affect any garment print. Follow the care advice supplied with your order and the garment label. Ask us if you’re unsure.
For image files, aim for 300dpi at the size you want printed.
